Coal Gasification
ZVU Engineering is one of the few companies in the world that for long time period is involved in the industrial application of coal into the high grade gaseous fuel. The industrial application of the Czech pressure coal gasification started early in the fiftieth of the last century when former ZVU Hradec Králové Companies, together with Czech research and design institutes, developed its own pressure coal gasification process and key equipment that were applied and installed in several gasification plants, as listed below.
ZVU Engineering, as successor of the former ZVU, has assumed full know-how of this process that was collected through development activities as well as through industrial applications of the gasification plants, like Pressure Coal Gasification Plants in Úžin and Vřesová (Czech Republic) and Lanzhou (China), and that is the base for the current industrial applications.
ZVU Engineering’s key references:
- Pressure Gasification Plant Vřesová (Czech Republic) – equipped with 26 pressure coal gasifiers ø 3000 mm, gasification process under pressure 25 bar, constructed from 1965 till 1970, annual production 1 billion m3/year of energy gas used in its entire power steam-gas cycle complex.
- Pressure Gasification Plant (China) - equipped with 5 pressure coal gasifiers ø 3000 mm, gasification process under pressure 30 bar, constructed from 1985 till 1987, production 50,000 m3/h of town gas, currently dismantled.
- Pressure Gasification Plant ALUMINIJ KAZAKHSTAN (Kazakhstan) - equipped with 4 pressure coal gasifiers ø 3000 mm, gasification process under pressure 16 - 25 bar, constructed from 2004 till 2007, production 70,000 m3/h of the fuel gas for heating of the calcining furnace calcining.
